Shavkat Mirziyoyev pardons 44 convicts
On March 19, the President of Uzbekistan signed a decree on pardoning convicts, “Uzbekistan 24” TV channel correspondents reported.
The decree on pardoning was signed in connection with the holiday of Navruz. According to the decree, 44 convicts in the republic were pardoned. Of these, 7 prisoners were completely exempted from punishment, 11 - released on parole, sentences of 12 convicts were commuted to milder ones, and imprisonment terms for 13 citizens were reduced.
It should be recalled that in December 2018, on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of adopting the Constitution of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev pardoned 136 convicts.
