TPP with capacity of 240 MW to be built in Bukhara region in cooperation with Turkey 

In Uzbekistan, it is planned to construct a 240 MW combined cycle thermal power plant in cooperation with the company Cengiz Enerji Sanayiive Ticaret A.Ş. (Turkey). Kun.uz correspondent reports about it referring to the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

At the Ministry, a meeting of the Minister of Energy Alisher Sultanov and other participants of negotiations with a delegation led by the Founder, Chairman of the Board of Cengiz Holding Mehmet Cengiz was held.

Following the meeting, the Ministry of Energy and Cengiz Energy signed an agreement on the project for construction of a combined cycle TPP with capacity of 240 MW under the terms of public-private partnership.

Kogon district of the Bukhara region near the Kuyimazar reservoir has been chosen as a site for the construction of a combined-cycle thermal power plant.

Thermal power plant operating on natural gas includes two gas turbines manufactured by GE (USA) and one steam turbine manufactured by Siemens (Germany).

The main terms of the agreement on implementation of the project “Construction of a 240 MW TPP in the Bukhara region of the Republic of Uzbekistan” between the Ministry of Energy and Cengiz Enerji Sanayiive Ticaret A.Ş. were signed on February 19 of this year.

It should be noted that the construction of a 240 MW power plant in the Bukhara region will allow covering the region’s need for electrical energy and reducing technological losses for transportation through the main electric networks.
