Uzbekistan, UAE to cooperate in the field of agriculture, create land ports in Navoi region

Uzbekistan and the UAE will collaborate in development of agricultural production, Deputy Prime Minister Elyor Ganiyev said.

“Another important aspect is the development of agricultural production.

In this regard, the Emirati companies are showing great interest in exploring land plots and cultivating agricultural products that are demanded in the world market.

One of such projects worth $200 million will be implemented in Syrdarya. Here, the paper cellulose will be produced,” Deputy PM said. 

According to him, agricultural products grown in Uzbekistan will be delivered to the UAE through Navoi Airport.

“Another important aspect is development of the transport and logistics infrastructure. Great experience of the United Arab Emirates in this field is very important for us.

That's why we have signed a contract with Dubai Port World. It envisages the creation of land ports in Navoi region.

Paying attention to the airport section of this project, direct flights to the UAE will be launched with assistance of the famous Emirates airline from Navoi to ship agricultural products, fruits and vegetables.

The head of our state and the Emirati leaders have identified the potential for trade turnover in the amount of $1 billion. If we create an efficient logistics system, we can achieve this target,” Elyor Ganiev said.
