Uzbekistan Airways transfers all flights to Istanbul to New Airport
From April 7, all flights of the national airline company (NAC) Uzbekistan Airways from cities of Uzbekistan to Istanbul and back will be transferred from Ataturk International Airport to New Airport (İstanbul Yeni Havalimanı), the press service of the NAC reported.
The new airport is located at 35 km north of the European part of Istanbul. From April 7, Ataturk Airport will be closed for passenger flights.
In accordance with the decision of the Aviation Authorities of Turkey, on April 5-6, all international flights to/from Ataturk Airport have been canceled.
In this regard, the NAC reports that flights - HY271/272, HY273/274, HY275/276 (scheduled for April 5), and also flights HY271/272, HY273/274 (scheduled for April 6), have been canceled.
For passengers with issued air tickets for specified flights, Uzbekistan Airways will provide an opportunity to refund at the sale counters or change the departure date without paying penalty fees within the validity period of air tickets.
Rebooking of partially used air tickets is possible at the place of their purchase, at NAC representative offices abroad or at GAVS.
“In order to avoid delays on flights and timely check-in, including all pre-flight formalities, Uzbekistan Airways asks passengers to arrive at the new airport well in advance, not less than three hours before the scheduled departure time,” the report said.
The airline reminds that check-in at the New Airport of Istanbul ends in 1 hour, and boarding – 20 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
