Man, who was killed in a car accident in Turkey, turned out to be a people’s artist of Uzbekistan
In Antalya, the People’s artist of Uzbekistan Zakhid Khaknazarov was killed in a car accident.
It should be recalled that recently, the MFA press service reported that on July 18, in Antalya, when crossing the road, a citizen of Uzbekistan was hit by a motorcycle and died on the spot.
At the same time, the message of the Foreign Ministry did not contain any specific information about the victim.
“The embassy has taken this situation under control and provides appropriate consular-legal assistance to the relatives of the deceased. The corpse of the compatriot will be sent home today by the Istanbul-Tashkent flight,” the ministerial press service said then.
Today, July 22, it became known that the deceased was the people’s artist of Uzbekistan Zakhid Khaknazarov.
Zakhid Khaknazarov, born on November 12, 1937 in Tashkent, was a Kapellmeister, music teacher and public figure. He became the people’s artist of the Uzbek SSR (in 1978). He graduated from Moscow Conservatory (1963), was a student of Nikolai Anosov. In 1965-1979, he headed the symphony orchestra of the Uzbek State Philharmonic Society. At the same time, he served as the rector of Tashkent Conservatory.
Zakhid Khaknazarov also regularly published articles, statements and open letters on topical issues of Uzbekistan’s policy.
