Valentina Matviyenko to visit Uzbekistan in autumn

Chairperson of the Senate of Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva met with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan Vladimir Tyurdenev.

During the meeting, issues of further strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, including within the framework of international parliamentary structures, were discussed.

It was emphasized that the political will of the heads of state of Uzbekistan and Russia is the basis for strengthening and developing bilateral ties. The role of parliaments in enhancing dialogue between countries is also increasing.

During the meeting, organizing in autumn the visit of the Russian Federation Council, headed by its Chair Valentina Matviyenko, was also discussed.

It was noted that inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries reached a new level. Thus, in November 2018, during the visit of Uzbekistan delegation to the Russian Federation, an agreement was signed on cooperation between the Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the Federation Council of Russia.
