Ismoilov, Volodin sign an agreement on creation of inter-parliamentary cooperation mechanism
In Tashkent, the Speaker of the Lower House of Oliy Majlis Nurdinjon Ismoilov and the Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin signed a cooperation agreement.
“The parties contribute to the establishment of permanent relations between committees and commissions, deputy groups and apparatuses. They exchange delegations in order to study the practice of development and adoption of legislative acts, the experience of parliamentary activities,” the agreement says.
“In the State Duma, such formats have been created with our colleagues from China, France, Kazakhstan, Italy and Iran. We have signed a framework agreement with the Uzbek side, which allows us in the future to come to decisions of more specific formats,” Vyacheslav Volodin emphasized.
It should be noted that this is the first visit of the State Duma Chairman to the country since 2006. As part of his stay, Vyacheslav Volodin will meet with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
