“The truce period will not be extended. All the points must be fulfilled by the end of this period. If they are not met, the operation will continue from where it was suspended,” the diplomat said at a press conference in Tashkent.

According to him, Turkey hopes that “the points will be respected”.

Answering a question whether Turkey recorded the surrender of weapons to the Kurds during the 120-hour truce, he said that Turkey “does not enter into negotiations with terrorists who do not know whom they serve”.

“Therefore, we believe that they should fulfill surrender of weapons with the party with which they agreed – this is the USA, we have an agreement with them. We hope that they will do all this with the help of USA,” the diplomat said.

On October 9, the Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan announced the start of the military operation “Peace Spring” in northern Syria against the Kurdistan Workers Party and the Islamic State group (which are banned in Turkey).

On the same day, Turkish aviation delivered airstrikes on the city of Ras al-Ain in the north of the country and several other Syrian cities on the border between the two countries.

On October 17, the USA and Turkey managed to agree on a five-day truce.
