Ten trucks and a trade house: Uzbekistan moves into the Syrian market, eyes $100–150 million in exports
Uzbekistan is preparing to dispatch its first consignment of goods to the Syrian market, with ten truckloads of products set to be shipped following an agreement reached between Uzbek and Syrian companies.
The deal was struck during online negotiations organized with the participation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Chairman Davron Vakhobov and Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Kuwait Ayubkhon Yunusov. Representatives from Uzbek companies Premier Electrotec, Sam-Ferre, Nassar Trading Agro, Metsol, Solis Oils, and Technologies of Real Time took part alongside Syria's Kalash Trading.
The talks centered on developing the trade house's operations in Syria and expanding the supply of Uzbek goods to the Syrian market. The parties discussed product demand, logistics routes, and plans for product presentations.
The agreed shipment comprises four trucks carrying household appliances, four loaded with cooking oil, and two carrying automotive parts and motor oil.
A trade house already open in Aleppo
The shipment follows the opening last week of the first Uzbek-Syrian trade house in Aleppo, established with the support of Ahmad Kalash. The facility includes a distribution center for goods supplied to the Syrian market under the Made in Uzbekistan brand. The CCI has estimated delivery times at ten days, at a cost of $2,500 per container.
The CCI has also offered to assist other Uzbek entrepreneurs looking to export to Syria, with enquiries accepted by phone at (+998) 91 480-48-01.
Broader export ambitions
CCI Chairman Vakhobov had flagged the export potential of the Iraqi and Syrian markets in late 2025, saying Uzbek businesses could ship goods worth $100–150 million to Syria in 2026 alone – primarily vehicles and spare parts, food products, and electrical equipment.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev had also announced measures to boost exports to Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan in late November, highlighting the importance of developing markets with strong demand for Uzbek-made cars, appliances, textiles, and other goods.
