Uzbekistan abolishes excise tax on imported cars
From August 1, Uzbekistan abolishes the excise tax on the import of cars, tractors, trucks and other types of vehicles.

On June 3, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On measures to further streamline foreign economic activity and stimulate the development of the domestic market for motor vehicles”, the Ministry of Justice writes in its Telegram channel.
According to the document, from August 1, the current excise tax rate for the import of:
• motor vehicles for transporting 10 people or more (8702)
• cars and other motor vehicles intended for the transportation of people (exc. 8702), including utility vehicles and vans as well as racing cars (8703)
• tractors (HS code - 8701)
will be canceled.
For information, the current excise tax rate on the import of cars is 30%.
