IAEA nuclear infrastructure verification mission to visit Uzbekistan in December
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Asadov, held a meeting with the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, in Vienna on July 20.
“The IAEA welcomes the successful cooperation in the development of the nuclear infrastructure of Uzbekistan, in particular the joint preparation for the integrated assessment of the country’s nuclear infrastructure scheduled for December this year,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
“We are very satisfied with the progress in implementation of Uzbekistan’s nuclear program and believe that for the new nuclear states your country is a role model in building relations with the IAEA,” the Head of the Agency Rafael Grossi said.
The Head of IAEA stressed the importance of collaboration with Uzbekistan within technical cooperation projects, i.e. with the Namangan Oncology Clinic, the National Endocrinology Center, the Samarkand State University and the Tashkent city branch of the Republican Specialized Center of Oncology and Radiology.
