School principal committed suicide in Kashkadarya

The director of one of the schools in the Kashkadarya region hanged himself. Reportedly, he left 3 letters before his death. In one of the letters, the principal asked the school teachers “to not allow corruption under any circumstances”.

According to the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office, on September 8, Latif Eshkobilov, a resident of the Bogbon mahalla, appealed to the Kitab district prosecutor’s office and said that his nephew Nurbek Turdiyev had committed suicide. He asked law enforcement officers to take action against perpetrators.

On the same day, the district prosecutor’s office inspected the scene of the incident.

It was established that Nurbek Turdiyev, a resident of the Yangiqishloq village, Bogbon mahalla, Kitab district, died on August 31 after hanging himself in the toilet of the school he headed.

“When district police officers went to Turdiyev’s home to inquire about his death, his close relatives, in order to avoid a forensic examination, said that he had died of a heart attack and buried the body on the same day.

In the course of the investigation, when it was explained that a forensic examination of Turdiyev’s body should be carried out by exhumation to determine the cause of his death, relatives of the deceased expressed their opposition to the exhumation of the corpse,” the PGO press service told Kun.uz.

It is noted that before his death Turdiyev wrote 3 copies of letters, which are now kept by his uncle Latif Eshkobilov.

“When it was required to submit these letters for the appointment of a forensic document examination due to the need to conduct a pre-investigation check, Eshkobilov refused to present the originals, providing copies of these documents.

In the letters, Turdiyev asked the family members to take care of his children, also, he asked school teachers to prevent corruption,” the PGO report reads.

On September 18, Nasafnews.uz published a photo of a letter allegedly related to the case. The letter states that the deceased director addressed to his colleagues, urged them to “prevent corruption under any circumstances.”

According to Daryo.uz, the man was 47 years old. The publication contacted Avlokul Avlayev, the head of the Kitab district Department of Public Education.

“It was April or May when Nurbek’s brother Sh.T., who works in the police department, came to me and said: “My brother is addicted to alcohol, we treated him, but it didn’t work. So please do dismiss him from his job. This way better for you and for us,” Avlayev said.

Reportedly, Nurbek Turdiyev had been the head of the school No. 13 in the district since 2018.

Currently, the Kitab district prosecutor’s office is investigating the case.
