Kazakhstan to check vegetables from Uzbekistan for tomato virus
The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan will check the vegetables imported from Uzbekistan for the presence of the tomato brown rugose fruit virus.
It should be recalled that on November 26, Rosselkhoznadzor imposed a ban on the import of tomatoes and peppers produced in the Fergana region of Uzbekistan, Sputnik says.
“Due to the detection of the virus, the import of tomatoes and peppers produced in the Fergana region of Uzbekistan to Russia is prohibited from November 26, 2020. We are now conducting the analysis of the current situation on possible threats and risks to greenhouse farms of the republic,” the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture reported.
