Turkish Defense Ministry announces detention of Uzbek nationals on border with Syria
Turkey identified an ISIS terrorist arrested on December 31 as being sought with an international red notice, Anadolu Agency said with reference to the country’s Defense Ministry.
On December 31, a dozen suspects trying to illegally cross into Turkey from Syria were arrested by border security guards.
The ISIS terrorist suspects were made up of five Russian, four Uzbekistan nationals, and three others from Kyrgyzstan.
A comprehensive investigation “determined that one of the terrorists was sought with a red notice,” the Turkish Defense Ministry said.
