FM Abdulaziz Kamilov, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken discuss strengthening Uzbek-American strategic partnership

On April 22, the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov had a telephone conversation with the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

The parties discussed the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for further deepening the multifaceted Uzbek-American strategic partnership, the MFA press service reported.

The American side highly appreciated the democratic reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan. In particular, the achieved results in the field of combating human trafficking and ensuring freedom of religion were noted.

The parties stressed the importance of continuing active interaction within the framework of the C5+1 format.

Special attention was paid to the issues of involving Afghanistan in regional integration processes to restore the country’s socio-economic life in the post-conflict period.

Kamilov invited the US Secretary of State to the high-level international conference “Central Asia and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities”, which will be held in July this year in Tashkent.
