Aziz Abdukhakimov elected vice-president of UNWTO General Assembly session
According to the voting results of the UNWTO Regional Commission for Europe, representatives from Uzbekistan and Hungary were unanimously elected as vice-presidents of the 24th session of the UNWTO General Assembly, which will be held in Morocco in October this year.
The representative of the Republic of Uzbekistan is Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov.
Earlier, Aziz Abdukhakimov met with the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization Zurab Pololikashvili.
Abdukhakimov, within the framework of the meeting in Madrid, proposed to hold the XXV session of the UNWTO in 2023 in Samarkand. The Secretary General positively accepted the initiative and stated that he is ready to fully support Uzbekistan in this matter.
