People of Uzbekistan to have 5 days off on Independence Day
Residents of Uzbekistan will rest for several days in a row on Independence Day.
It should be recalled that in early March of this year, the President signed a decree “On the establishment of additional non-working days during the celebration of official dates and the transfer of days off in 2021”.
According to the document, the following days are set as additional non-working days:
- September 2 (Thursday);
- September 3 (Friday).
In addition, the decree determines that January 2, March 20 and September 4 (Saturdays), as well as March 22 (Monday) are non-working days for all employees, regardless of the type of working week.
Also in early February, the head of state signed decree “On measures for the further development of domestic and pilgrim tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
The document says that on the days of the main holidays, residents of Uzbekistan will rest for at least 3 days. In particular, the republic established an order according to which during the celebration of the Navruz national holiday, Independence Day and New Year, as well as the religious holidays Eid-al-Fitr and Eid-al- Adha, at least three non-working days are established at the expense of additional and transferred non-working days.
Thus, on the Independence Day, the people of Uzbekistan will rest for five days in a row:
- September 1 – Wednesday (public holiday);
- September 2 – Thursday (additional non-working day);
- September 3 – Friday (additional non-working day);
- September 4 – Saturday (non-working day for all);
- September 5 – Sunday (day off according to the calendar).
