Mirziyoyev, Steinmeier discuss progress of evacuating German citizens from Afghanistan
On August 17, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
According to the press service of the head of state, during the conversation, issues of further development of Uzbek-German multifaceted relations, as well as the most important aspects of regional interaction were considered.
“Special attention was paid to the development of the situation in Afghanistan. It was noted that the escalation of military-political tension in this country could have a serious negative impact on the state of regional and international security,” the statement said.
In addition, an agreement was reached on close coordination of joint efforts to promote a peaceful settlement of the Afghan problem and to maintain regular political consultations on the situation in the region.
“Cooperation will also continue on the evacuation of German citizens from Afghanistan,” the presidential press service concluded.
