Previously, it was reported that Uzbekistan has temporarily banned flights of the Russian IFly Airlines on its territory.

“Despite the fact that IFly Airlines was warned against organizing charter flights without obtaining the appropriate permits, the air carrier committed gross violation. In November 2021, it arranged flights on the routes Moscow – Urgench – St. Petersburg – Urgench – Moscow and Moscow – Navoi – Moscow, as well as St. Petersburg – Navoi – St. Petersburg with the sale of air tickets, which led to social tension among passengers who arrived at the airport for departure,” the message says.

In this regard, the Uzaviation Agency decided to impose a sanction against IFly Airlines to temporarily suspend flights to Uzbekistan.

According to RBK, the Director General of the Russian airline Kirill Romanovsky said that the Uzbek authorities have introduced restrictions on the flight schedule and passenger loading while performing charter flights since October 15, which “significantly complicated the operation of flights to Uzbekistan”. In particular, a ban was placed on loading more than 300 passengers.

A source in one of the airlines flying to Uzbekistan suggested that the decision regarding IFly may be related to unfair competition from the state carrier Uzbekistan Airways.

Earlier it became known that in case of a repetition of such cases from the airline side, the Uzaviation Agency will revoke operational permits for flights.
