Farrukh Karabayev, deputy chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee, answered a question on gasoline prices at the November 16 press conference.

“The Antimonopoly Committee is not a spectator in this situation, the factors influencing prices have been studied, and concrete measures are being taken,” he said.

One thing we need to understand is that where natural growth is observed based on market mechanisms, we cannot influence it. But it is possible to influence artificially created, coordinated, manipulative actions.

Cases of manipulation, signs of artificial annulment of low-cost gasoline were also identified in the gasoline price increase. Necessary measures will be taken against this.

Efforts to stabilize and reduce prices continue; this is a matter of time, but prices will change in the coming days.

At the same time, attention is being paid to saturating the market and providing opportunities for small buyers on the basis of low prices. Because what is happening now? Large, wholesale buyers operate at very low returns, more likely to offer a higher offer in their sales process.

That is why the lots are made in small quantities, the purpose of which is to allow ordinary petrol stations to get gasoline and replenish its reserves. This will help prevent prices from rising artificially.

I cannot say for sure now, but there will be a change in prices in the next 10 days,” Farrukh Karabayev said.
