FM Abdulaziz Kamilov discusses with UN Special Rapporteur issues of providing humanitarian assistance to Afghan people
On November 29, the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov held talks with the UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms while countering terrorism Fionnuala D. Ní Aoláin.

The parties discussed topical issues of Uzbekistan’s interaction with the UN and its specialized structures in the field of human rights.
The UN Special Rapporteur praised the efforts of Uzbekistan to ensure the rights and freedoms of citizens, to provide effective assistance to people who find themselves in difficult situations in other states, including the return and repatriation of people, especially women and children, from the war zones in the Middle East.
An exchange of views took place on the situation in Afghanistan. A common opinion was expressed about the urgent need to provide the Afghan people with emergency humanitarian assistance.
