Uzbekistan to open an embassy in Sweden
On December 3, Foreign Affairs Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is on a working visit to Stockholm, met with the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Ann Linde.
At the meeting, Kamilov stressed that Uzbekistan supports the expansion of constructive and mutually beneficial dialogue with the OSCE.
The parties noted that Uzbekistan and Sweden are equally interested in developing bilateral relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres. Plans on opening Uzbekistan’s embassy in Sweden were considered.
The sides exchanged views on the schedule of the next round of inter-ministerial political consultations.
It was noted that the opening of the Uzbek embassy in Stockholm will serve to significantly accelerate bilateral cooperation.
Abdulaziz Kamilov and Ann Linde also discussed the situation in Afghanistan.
