At the regular session of the Fergana regional council of people’s deputies, the regional khokim Khayrullo Bozorov announced a reward of half a million soums for each extra kilogram shed.
A new experiment will be carried out in Fergana to get rid of excess weight. This was announced by the regional khokim Khayrullo Bozorov at a session of the Fergana regional council of people’s deputies on December 20.
According to the World Health Organization, 50-55% of the world’s diseases are caused by unhealthy lifestyle, overweight, malnutrition, and inactivity. He said that the “Fergana experience” will be launched to promote a healthy lifestyle, as it is the main reason for its emergence.
“Our biggest mistake is not following a healthy lifestyle. The “Fergana experience” will be launched to promote a healthy lifestyle. In this case, a person who has lost from 5 kg to 10-15 kg in 1 year will be awarded a cash prize. A separate commission is working on this.
A citizen will be registered at a clinic near his home and be weighed. If he loses 5 kilos after 6 months, we will pay him at least 2.5 million soums, that is, 500 thousand soums per kilo.
It’s funny, but we have to do it. We need to get people used to walking 5,000 steps, even if they are not doing sports,” the khokim said.
It was noted that overweight is one of the main problems in the healthcare system of the country, which has serious consequences and causes many diseases. Therefore, the “Fergana experiment” will be launched. This includes overweight citizens living in the region. A special regulation on the implementation of the process will be developed.
In his speech, Khayrullo Bozorov also spoke about sports, noting that next year 50 football clubs will be established in the region, and the focus on football in the region will be further enhanced.
At the end of his address, the head of the region said that he would personally follow every critical opinion made on social networks, in the press, on television, and he was ready to address any issue if the criticism was based on objectivity, fairness and neutrality.
The regional khokim stressed that he will call on the mass media, bloggers to cooperate on the principle of open doors, and will accept mistakes and shortcomings, if the criticism is justified.
Concluding his speech, the head of the region stressed that the development of private TV channels, increasing the number of critical and analytical materials and their active placement on social networks will be launched next year.
