A bus carrying Uzbek citizens overturned onto a Mercedes-Benz car on the highway in Kazakhstan. Three passengers in the car were killed and no bus passengers were seriously injured.
A bus full of Uzbeks crashed on the way to Kazakhstan, Zakon.kz reported.
Reportedly, a bus carrying Uzbek citizens collided with a Mercedes-Benz E-Class on 108 km of the Almaty-Bishkek highway on December 27 at about 21:40. According to reports, the vehicle went into a skid.
The Almaty regional police department told the publication that the driver of the Mercedes-Benz lost control over the car and drove on the opposite lane of the road. Consequently, it collided with a Van Hool bus.
As a result of the collision, 3 of the 6 passengers in the Mercedes-Benz E-Class car died at the scene and 3 were injured. It was later revealed that one of the dead was the driver’s wife and the other two were passengers. There were two drivers among the injured. But the bus driver was not seriously injured and went home after receiving medical treatment. The condition of the other two injured is serious.
An investigation is currently underway. The bus passengers were not seriously injured and after the accident they were warmed by an open flame on the street. Then another bus came and took them away.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the incident.
