Finland may actively participate in implementation of educational projects in Uzbekistan
In Helsinki, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Kadambay Sultanov met with Kirsi Lindrus, Director of the Secretariat for International Relations of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland, Dunyo correspondent reports.
At the meeting, it was noted that on the basis of the Ministry of Education of Finland, a team for interaction with Uzbekistan was created, which, among other things, is working on completing the relevant “Roadmap”, searching and recruiting Finnish specialists to conduct a series of webinars and trainings for managers, professors and teachers of interested universities.
In addition, the Finnish specialist emphasized the prospects for involving EU financing instruments in the cooperation process. According to her, the Finnish side has reached a preliminary agreement on the allocation of funds under the EU Twinning program, aimed primarily at improving the quality of textbooks for schoolchildren in Uzbekistan.
Kirsi Lindrus, referring to the prospects for cooperation in the field of inclusive education, pointed to the possibility of establishing contacts between a specialized school in Samarkand and a specialized school for blind children in the city of Jyväskylä and the general education school “Valtere” in the cities of Helsinki and Oulu, including in the field of teaching in Braille.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on organizing a visit by Kirsi Lindrus to Uzbekistan to discuss the implementation of joint projects, timed to coincide with the trip to the International Educational Conference “launch event” on April 11 in Tashkent.
