Acting Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov today met with a delegation of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) headed by the Chairman-in-Office, Foreign Minister of Poland Zbigniew Rau, who arrived in our country on a visit.
According to the MFA, the meeting discussed the state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OSCE, as well as issues of further intensification of Uzbek-Polish relations.
The dynamic development of cooperation with OSCE institutions in all three dimensions of the organization’s activity was noted with satisfaction.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the implementation of joint projects in such areas as attracting advanced technologies and innovations, developing a “green” economy and mitigating the consequences of the drying up of the Aral Sea, as well as developing democratic institutions and improving electoral legislation.
The OSCE representatives expressed their readiness to deepen cooperation with Uzbekistan, including through the development of additional specific projects in areas of mutual interest.
During the talks, issues of further expansion of bilateral political, trade-economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and Poland were discussed in detail.
It was noted that in recent years, bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Poland have been dynamically developing and expanding in all areas.
The increased interest of Polish business in the more active use of the potential of cooperation between our countries in the trade-economic and investment fields was emphasized. In this context, an exchange of views took place on the organization of visits to Uzbekistan by delegations of leading Polish companies.
The talks also considered topical issues on the regional and global agenda.
During the meeting, the Intergovernmental Executive Program in the field of culture, science, higher education, enlightenment and sports for 2022-2026 was signed. The document outlines the main areas of cooperation between the relevant ministries and departments of the two countries.
Following the talks, a press approach was held by the head of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan for media representatives.
