Abdulaziz Kamilov holds talks with Taliban Foreign Minister in Kabul
The parties discussed the development of bilateral relations and the participation of members of the Taliban delegation in the upcoming economic conference in Uzbekistan.
On June 19, Special Representative of the President for Foreign Policy Abdulaziz Kamilov and Special Representative for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev held talks in Kabul with the acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Amir Khan Muttaqi, Kabul Times reports with reference to official government sources.
The sides discussed bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, transit issues and strengthening trade between the two countries. Abdulaziz Kamilov noted the interdependence of the security of the two states, adding that close coordination is necessary for bilateral trade and the establishment of transit.
Kamilov also invited Amir Khan Muttaqi to take part in the upcoming economic conference in Uzbekistan.
The Foreign Minister of Afghanistan thanked Abdulaziz Kamilov for his visit to Kabul and congratulated him on his new position, and also expressed gratitude for cooperation with Afghanistan in the political, economic and social fields.
