Uzmetkombinat plans to arrange supplies of metal products to European countries, Spot reports referring to the industry portal Argus.

The company has already opened its sales office in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Despite significant logistics costs, high prices in European markets will be able to ensure the profitability of metal supplies.

The plant expects to annually export to the European Union 40 thousand tons of wire and fittings with a diameter of 10-25 mm. The enterprise intends to take advantage of the niche left after the introduction of sanctions against Russian steel suppliers.

“We are striving for a stable, long-term partnership with Europe,” said the head of the plant, Dilshod Akhmedov. “As the largest steel producer in the region, we have the knowledge, skills and capabilities to have a permanent presence”.

Now Uzmetkombinat’s fittings have already passed export certification in Latvia, Lithuania and Sweden. The company prepares documents for deliveries to Finland, Denmark and Norway, and plans to enter the Central European markets in the future.

From Lithuania, Uzbek products will be delivered to other countries by sea through the port of Klaipeda. Freight or rail transport will also be available.
