Level of provision of population with drinking water reaches 71.2%
The level of provision of the population with drinking water reached 71.2%, with water disposal – 17.5%, this was reported at an AIMC press conference with the participation of the Deputy Chairman and officials of Uzsuvtaminot JSC.
In the first half of this year, at the expense of the republican budget (930.8 billion), work was completed at 69 facilities, construction work and reconstruction of 121 facilities, 1779.9 km of drinking networks and 74.8 km of sewerage networks were carried out.
In total, 119.2 km of drinking water supply networks and 33.9 km of sewerage networks were built and reconstructed at the expense of international financial organizations ($108.3 million), 4 water distribution facilities were built and 5 were reconstructed.
In 2022, Uzsuvtaminot JSC has been implementing 20 projects with the participation of international financial institutions. These projects are planned to be financed by the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, the Islamic Development Bank, Saudi Development Funds and OPEC for a total of $1 billion 861 million.
Until the end of this year, at the expense of financing in the amount of 2 trillion soums, it is planned to build and reconstruct 527 structures, 5.5 thousand km of drinking water supply and sanitation networks, at the expense of international financial institutions in the amount of $245.1 million. For the first time, 1.6 million residents will be provided with drinking water, the supply of drinking water to 3.4 million residents will be improved, thereby increasing the level of provision with centralized drinking water supply to 74.2%, and the provision of sanitation services to 18%.
