President Mirziyoyev receives Inter-Parliamentary Union Chairman and Secretary General
On Sept 8, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Inter-Parliamentary Union Chairman Duarte Pacheco and the Secretary General of the organization Martin Chungong.

At the meeting, the president noted with deep satisfaction the dynamically developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
These days, the events of the 14th summit of women heads of national parliaments of the world countries are successfully taking place in the city of Tashkent. The agenda includes important issues of global and regional significance, the development of effective institutions to support democratic and socio-economic transformations, and the implementation of gender policy.
The high representatives of the Inter-Parliamentary Union thanked the leader of Uzbekistan for all possible assistance in promoting joint initiatives, and also fully supported the program of transformations and reforms in the country.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in such areas as achieving the goals and objectives in the field of sustainable development, promoting democratic values, supporting youth, and interacting with the Union’s Innovation Center.
