The text of congratulations was  published by  the press service of the head of state.

“Sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, I congratulate you and, in your person, all the teachers of Uzbekistan, who have dedicated their lives to a difficult and at the same time most honorable profession in the world, on a national holiday - the Day of Teachers and Mentors.

We, parents, have entrusted you, dear teachers, with our most precious wealth – the future of our children,” Mirziyoyev said.

The head of state recalled that in the last academic year, boys and girls won 45 gold, silver and bronze medals at international and regional subject Olympiads, and this was another confirmation of the effectiveness of the ongoing reforms in the field of education.

“As you know,  the authority of a teacher is, first of all, the authority of the nation, of the entire people. Therefore, in recent years we have been carrying out large-scale reforms aimed at increasing the role and authority of teachers and mentors in the life of society, organizing the education system based on the requirements of the times. Eradication of the practice of forced labor and involvement of teachers in all kinds of public works, elimination of bureaucracy in educational institutions are yielding positive results. Another important step in this direction was the organization of a system of material incentives for teachers of the highest category involved in work in schools in remote areas.

The country is creating an effective system of comprehensive and continuous support for children - from birth to adulthood, helping them to find a worthy place in life. Along with this, it should be noted that a national program for the development of public education in 2022-2026 has been adopted, a national council for reforming the public education system and its regional branches have been established.

For the first time in the history of Uzbekistan, advanced international programs for assessing the level of mastering subjects in primary school have been introduced. This year, 51 new schools with all modern conditions have been built at the expense of the state budget. Construction and repair work was carried out in 1,660 schools. More than 35 thousand sets of educational equipment have been delivered to educational institutions, the infrastructure of about 1.9 thousand schools has been radically updated. More than 2.5 thousand classrooms are equipped with a total of 31 thousand modern computers.

Particular attention is paid to improving the knowledge and professional skills of teachers. Thanks to relevant measures, over the past year, the number of teachers with a qualification category has exceeded 300,000, which will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the quality of education. At present, in cooperation with the international organizations UNICEF, USAID and with the participation of experts from such developed countries as the USA, Great Britain, Japan, South Korea, Finland, extensive research is ongoing aimed at creating modern educational programs and textbooks for schools.

I would especially like to note that in order to create a healthy competitive environment in the sphere, 42 non-state higher educational institutions were created, the number of branches of foreign universities increased to 31.

Our goal is for a school graduate in New Uzbekistan to be a person with creative thinking, a broad outlook and the ability to make decisions independently, possess modern skills and information technologies.

To achieve this noble goal, we will certainly bring to its logical conclusion the work we have begun on a radical revision of school curricula, teaching methods, and the content of textbooks. We will take the work of creating decent conditions and stimulating the hard work of teachers, professors and teachers, educators, mentors, scientists, and improving their material support to a new level. We will comprehensively develop inclusive education for children with disabilities,” the head of state stressed.

The President stated that “today we are all witnesses to the fact that the system of education and upbringing is in the center of attention of our entire society”. Each change in the sphere causes a wide response among compatriots.

Taking into account these urgent requirements of the time, a completely new network of specialized schools was created in the country. Hundreds of specialized facilities and IT parks are being built to train young people in modern professions.

“Today, you, dear teachers and mentors, are carrying out a very important historical mission in an extremely responsible area. Indeed, the upbringing of the young generation, ready to staunchly defend the interests of the Motherland and the people, having a firm position in life, inferior to no one and in nothing, is truly the greatest task. I wish you all new successes and achievements in your noble work on this path. Good health, happiness, peace and prosperity to your families, dear teachers and mentors,” Mirziyoyev concluded.
