Global population hits 8 billion; Uzbekistan ranks 41 by the number of permanent residents

On November 15, the world’s population reached 8 billion, representing a milestone in human development.

In the meantime, according to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, the country’s population stands at 35.9 million as of November 15.

Of this, 18.1 million are men and 17.8 million are women.

By the number of permanent residents, Uzbekistan ranks 41st in the world.

According to the UN, the world’s population increased by 1 billion in just 12 years.
