Mishustin urges to speed up construction of NPP in Uzbekistan
Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin called for speeding up the implementation of the agreements reached within the framework of the project for the joint construction of a nuclear power plant with Uzbekistan according to Russian design, RIA Novosti reported.
“We consider it important to strengthen cooperation in nuclear energy. A major project will be the joint construction of a Russian-designed NPP. It is necessary to speed up the implementation of all the agreements reached,” Mishustin said at the 3rd meeting of the joint commission at the level of the heads of government of Russia and Uzbekistan in Samarkand.
Russia, Mishustin continued, welcomes the interest of the Uzbek partners in deepening industrial cooperation.
“Interesting initiatives are being discussed in the automotive, aircraft industry, and pharmaceuticals. Large investments are directed to mechanical engineering and metallurgy,” the Russian PM said.
Over the past five years, Mishustin noted, the number of enterprises created in Uzbekistan with the participation of Russian capital has exceeded two and a half thousand, and Uzbek business has registered over 600 companies in Russia.
He expressed confidence that the economic business forum, which is being held in Uzbekistan, will strengthen ties between entrepreneurs of both states and serve to launch new promising projects.
