Schoolchildren may start 3rd quarter online, winter vacation being extended again in regions
It was announced that classes in all educational institutions in several regions will start on January 23, not January 18.
On January 16, the Minister of Preschool and School Education met with the local governments in a videoconference meeting and discussed the issue of starting the III quarter online.
“At the moment, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education is considering the issue of temporarily transferring pupils to the online education system until the weather conditions stabilize,” the ministry said in its official statement.
It is noted that the minister emphasized that local administrations need to once again re-analyze the state of preparation of general education institutions in regions.
Reportedly, the winter vacation in kindergartens, schools and presidential, creative and specialized schools, as well as higher and secondary special educational institutions located in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Bukhara, Andijan, Khorezm, Surkhandarya, Syrdarya, Namangan and Tashkent regions, as well as the city of Tashkent, has been extended until January 22 (previously, it was until January 18).
Educational process will begin on Monday, January 23.
So far, the remaining regional administrations have not yet issued an official response to the extension of vacation periods.
