Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan sign a “roadmap” to increase tourist flows
A tripartite “roadmap” was signed between the Secretariat of the Organization of Turkic States, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan.
The “roadmap” stipulates the development of travel programs that increase the flow of tourists between the two countries, and the establishment of information exchange between tourist companies. At the same time, it is planned to systematically place the information showing the tourist potential of the countries on a special pilgrimage tourism platform, to create comfort for tourists at the border crossing points, and to develop proposals for increasing the number of bus services on the Turkestan-Tashkent route.
During the online meeting, representatives of the country’s tourism industry were invited to the next meeting of OTS member and observer countries to be held in Kazakhstan in October 2023. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism expressed its support for all projects of the OTS Secretariat aimed at the development of culture and tourism among member and observer states.
Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will account for 57% of tourists arriving in the country in 2022. 30% of them are from Kazakhstan.
