Private Emirati companies may purchase state share of companies in 4 spheres in Uzbekistan
In Abu Dhabi, the Working Group of Uzbekistan headed by the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov held a meeting and negotiations with the leadership of the UAE Ministries of Economy and Energy and Infrastructure.
During the meeting with the Minister of Economy Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, the current issues of expanding bilateral trade-economic and investment cooperation, the process of implementation of joint projects were discussed.
It was noted that new private companies of the UAE are interested in entering the Uzbek market. From this point of view, the chemical, mining-metallurgical and textile industries were mentioned as the most promising directions.
Considering the purchase of state shares of companies in tourism, chemistry, agriculture, construction and other sectors, the possibilities of participation of UAE companies in the privatization processes implemented in Uzbekistan were considered.
In May of this year, the issue of organizing the 5th meeting of the Uzbek-Emirati Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation and a joint business forum was agreed in the city of Samarkand.
During the meeting with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohammed Al Mazroui, the current issues of expanding bilateral investment cooperation in the directions of development of the energy sector and infrastructure of Uzbekistan were discussed.
The Emirati side emphasized that the cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UAE is a practical example of effective and successful mutual partnership.
