4.7 thousand Uzbeks received Russian citizenship over three months of 2023
Over 106,000 foreigners received Russian citizenship in the first three months of this year, which is 35,000 fewer than a year earlier.

As follows from the statistics of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs on the migration situation for the period from January to March 2023, more residents of Tajikistan received Russian citizenship than any other nation (44.9 thousand), followed by Ukrainians (22 thousand) and Armenians (8.9 thousand), TASS reports.
The top ten also includes citizens of Kazakhstan (6.9 thousand), Kyrgyzstan (5.4 thousand), Uzbekistan (4.7 thousand), Azerbaijan (3.7 thousand), Moldova (3.1 thousand), Belarus (2.4 thousand) and Turkmenistan (912 people).
“The number of persons in respect of whom a decision was made to grant Russian citizenship in January-March 2023 is 106,320,” the document says.
In the same period last year, 141,663 foreigners became Russian citizens.
