Embassy of Qatar opened in Tashkent (photos)
The opening ceremony of the new diplomatic mission was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi.
On May 7, a solemn ceremony of opening the Embassy of Qatar took place in Tashkent, the MFA press service of Uzbekistan reports.
The ceremony was attended by Foreign Ministers of the two states Bakhtiyor Saidov and Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi.
Speaking at the event, Bakhtiyor Saidov noted that the Uzbek side considers Qatar as an important, reliable and promising partner in the Arab world.
“Undoubtedly, the start of the activities of the diplomatic mission of Qatar in Uzbekistan will contribute to bringing our relations to a new level, expanding the horizons of mutually beneficial cooperation, accelerating trade and investment interaction, as well as ties between our peoples,” the Uzbek Foreign Minister stressed.
The parties also discussed topical issues of Uzbek-Qatari relations, the implementation of joint programs, prospects for intensifying political dialogue, trade-investment ties, cultural-humanitarian and tourist exchanges.
