A rapist who killed 12-year-old girl in Tashkent being charged under seven articles of the Criminal Code
The criminal case against the defendant will be considered behind closed doors.
Earlier, it was reported that the Prosecutor General’s Office had submitted to court a criminal case on the rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl in the capital’s Yangikhayot district.
The press service of the Supreme Court clarified that 30-year-old A.T. is being accused of committing crimes under the following articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan:
• Article 97 (Deliberate murder under aggravating circumstances of a person who was known to be in a helpless state, with special cruelty, involving rape or forcible satisfaction of a sexual need in an unnatural form in order to hide another crime);
• Article 104 (Deliberate grievous bodily injury inflicted with particular cruelty);
• Article 118 (Rape of a person under the age of fourteen);
• Article 119 (Satisfaction of sexual need in an unnatural form with the use of violence, threats or using the helpless state of the victim under the age of fourteen);
• Article 134 (Desecration of the grave);
• Article 137 (Kidnapping);
• Article 226 (Violation of the rules of administrative supervision by a person in respect of whom such supervision is established, committed after the application of an administrative penalty for the same act).
The criminal case will be considered by the Yakkasaray district court for criminal proceedings.
In accordance with the requirements of Article 19 of the Criminal Procedural Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, this criminal case will be considered in a closed court session. Additional information will be provided at the end of the trial.
