Pension Fund refutes rumors about forced transfer of pensions and benefits to bank cards
Information about the forced transfer of pensioners and recipients of benefits to bank plastic cards has spread on social networks.
The Pension Fund (PF) recalled that, in accordance with the presidential decree “On additional measures to improve the mechanism for paying wages, pensions, allowances and stipends”, starting from May 1, 2022, the payment of all types of pensions and allowances is made in cash, or on the basis of citizens' consent, they will be credited to a bank card.
In addition, the presidential decree “On the state program for the implementation of the action strategy in the five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021 in the Year of Supporting Youth and Improving the Population's Health” states that applications for pensions and benefits in non-cash form are issued in the process of opening bank plastic cards in branches of commercial banks or in electronic form through mobile applications without contacting the relevant branch of the Pension Fund.
PF representatives stressed that reports of the forced transfer of citizens receiving pensions and benefits to bank cards are unfounded.
“All actions are carried out on the basis of the wishes and consent of citizens,” the Pension Fund noted.
In case of violation of the rights and norms of the law, pensioners can contact the Pension Fund on the “helpline” - 1140.
