Uzbekistan proposes to double number of flights to Moscow and St. Petersburg

The Civil Aviation Agency of Uzbekistan offered the Russian aviation authorities to expand air traffic between the countries.
In particular, it is proposed to increase the number of flights from Tashkent to Moscow and St. Petersburg.
The representative of the Russian Ministry of Transport confirmed that the proposal to expand air traffic "is on the agenda."
The parties may amend the relevant intergovernmental agreement.
According to the offered changes, Uzbekistan Airways may double the number of weekly flights between the capitals, increasing them from 25 to 50. With St. Petersburg, the frequency of flights may be increased from the current 7 to 14 per week on each side.
Now flights between Moscow and Tashkent are carried out, in particular, by Aeroflot, Uzbekistan Airways, UTair, Uzbekistan Airways Express, Qanot Sharq and other airlines.
