SSS prevents circulation of 90 kg of narcotics at the border in Surkhandarya
Heroin, opium and hashish substances were found in 4 backpacks at the Uzbek-Tajik border.
A large amount of narcotics imported from Tajikistan was confiscated as a result of the operative-search activities carried out in cooperation with employees of the Surkhandarya Regional SSS Department and military personnel of the Border Troops, the SSS press service reported.
Particularly, in the part of the Uzbek-Tajik border crossing the territory of the village of Chashma, Sariosiyo district, it was found out that 39 kg 409 g of heroin, 35 kg 745 g of opium and 14 kg 545 g of hashish were found in 4 rucksacks, and they were duly registered.
Currently, a criminal case has been opened by the Investigative Department of the Surkhandarya Regional SSS Department in accordance with Article 246-2 (smuggling) of the Criminal Code. The necessary measures are being taken to clarify the identity of the owners of these narcotic drugs with a total weight of 89 kg 699 gr.
