Uzbekistan appoints new ambassadors to Oman and Belarus
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the arrival of new heads of diplomatic missions in Muscat and Minsk as they commence their official duties.
On February 4, Abdusalom Khatamov, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan, arrived in Muscat. Prior to this appointment, between 2018 and 2024, Khatamov led the General Consulate of Uzbekistan in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
He succeeds Anvar Abdulkhaliqov, who served as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Oman for three years.
Additionally, Rahmatulla Nazarov has begun his tenure as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus. Arriving in Minsk, he has since represented Uzbekistan as the embassy's counselor and interim chargé d'affaires since 2021. Before his appointment, he held the position of advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Nazarov replaces Nosirjon Yusupov.
