Security services recommend canceling the opening parade of Olympics in Paris
Recommendations from the country’s General Directorate of Internal Security have been sent to the French Foreign Ministry with a proposal to refuse to hold the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics due to the terrorist threat.
Radio Europe 1 reported this, according to the intelligence service, it is necessary to move to “plan B” due to the threat to the safety of participants and spectators of the sporting event.
It is noted that the planned format of the river parade is unsafe – there is a possibility of “the return of mass terrorism to France”.
In particular, it is about lone-wolf terrorists who can crash into a crowd in a car or use firearms.
