Man offering false promises of employment in Korea detained in Tashkent
Criminal charges have been initiated against the detained individual under the relevant articles of Uzbekistan's Criminal Code.
During an operative action conducted by the State Security Service and the Uchtepa District Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office, a citizen identified as A. O. was detained for promising paid employment abroad.
The man had gained the trust of citizen B. K. and offered to arrange a job in South Korea for a payment of $7,000. He was caught red-handed receiving $3,500 as an advance payment.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 168 (Fraud) and Article 211 (Offering a Bribe) of the Criminal Code, and an investigation is underway.
