Uzbekistan, Russia discuss issues of cooperation in field of bilateral tourism
The first meeting of the Subcommittee on cooperation in the field of tourism between Uzbekistan and Russia took place in Moscow.
The event was chaired by the first deputy of the Committee for Tourism of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Abdusalomov, and the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia, Dmitry Vakhrukov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda, in particular the implementation of previously adopted decisions and documents, the intergovernmental Action Plan to create conditions for increasing the tourist flow between Uzbekistan and Russia and the Cooperation Program to increase the tourist flow between the two countries for 2025-2026.
The issues of organizing connecting flights from Russian cities through Tashkent to other countries and holding the “Year of Tourism of Uzbekistan in Russia” in 2024-25 were also considered.
During the meeting of the Subcommittee, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Vakhrukov noted that between Russia and Uzbekistan in the first quarter of 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, there was an increase in mutual tourist flow by more than 20 percent.
Following the meeting, a protocol of the meeting of the Uzbek-Russian Subcommittee on cooperation in the field of tourism was signed.
