University of World Economy and Diplomacy increases tuition fees amid rising education costs
For the 2024/2025 academic year, first-year bachelor's students will pay 29.4 million UZS, while students in the second to fourth years will pay 23.7 million UZS. For master's programs, the fee is set at 27.2 million UZS.
The University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) has announced an increase in tuition fees on its official website. According to the new rates, the tuition fees for first-year students without scholarships are set at 29,428,000 UZS, and with scholarships at 35,642,000 UZS. For second to fourth-year students, the fees without scholarships are set at 23,740,000 UZS, and with scholarships at 31,814,000 UZS. The tuition fee for the master's program is set at 27,216,000 UZS.
According to the university's press service, the tuition fees at UWED had not been increased for three years. In the 2023/2024 academic year, the tuition fee without a scholarship for the bachelor's program was 18 million UZS, and for the master's program, it was 21 million UZS.
Previously, the average cost of education for one student in the full-time bachelor's programs at state higher education institutions for the 2023/2024 academic year was announced. According to this data, the average cost of education without a scholarship is 13,640,000 UZS. The average contract fee is 7,446,000 UZS, covering 54% of the costs.
The list of programs where the contract amount covers a large part of the costs includes law (81.2%), world economy and international relations (81.2%), world politics (81.2%), economics (75.6%), and information technology (75.6%).
