Paris 2024: Bahodir Jalolov wins gold, becomes two-time Olympic champion
The Uzbekistan boxing team dominated the Summer Olympic Games, securing five gold medals and claiming the top spot in the overall boxing team ranking.
In the +92 kg weight category, Bahodir Jalolov achieved a decisive 5-0 victory over Spanish boxer Ayoub Ghadfa, earning his second Olympic gold medal. Jalolov had previously won gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
It's also worth noting that earlier in the Games, Hasanboy Dusmatov, competing in the -51 kg weight category, and Ulugbek Rashitov, competing in taekwondo in the -68 kg weight category, both became two-time Olympic champions as well.
With one day remaining until the end of the Paris Olympics, Uzbekistan's medal tally has risen to 13 (8 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze), positioning the country in 13th place in the overall standings.
