Following the official presentation, a brief conversation took place between the two dignitaries. Sheikh Mishal fondly recalled his meeting with Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which occurred in July 2023 during the first summit of the Strategic Dialogue between the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) and Central Asia in Jeddah.
The Emir was also formally invited to visit Uzbekistan for the second summit of the Strategic Dialogue, scheduled for 2025 in Samarkand.
Ambassador Yunusov, who arrived in Kuwait on February 6, 2024, previously served as the head of the Consular-Legal Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan before his current appointment.
