Telecom operators in Uzbekistan returned 115 million UZS to consumers for overcharged mobile services
Telecommunication companies in Uzbekistan have reimbursed consumers 115 million UZS, following overcharges for mobile and internet services.
The Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee confirmed the refund.
Over the past nine months, the committee received around 2,000 complaints from consumers. The issues raised included poor service quality, incorrect billing, contract violations, and unsolicited SMS advertisements sent without the consent of subscribers.
In response, the committee issued warnings to telecom operators, including mobile service providers, emphasizing the need for strict compliance with consumer protection laws.
